What hardware would you like for your collar? If your pooch is a puller we recommend our metal quick release buckles. You can find guidance on what size of buckle to choose below. D-ring is included with the Brass buckle upgrade.

Clarify what colour(number and name) you’d like for the 1) Base and 2) Border of the collar. Detailed photos and colour chart can be found among listing photos.

0-35 cm – 30 mm wide

  • 20 mm buckles(Plastic, brass plated or zinc)
  • 25 mm brass or stainless steal D-ring.

35.1 cm+ – 30 mm wide

  • 25 mm buckles(Plastic, brass plated or zinc)
  • 30 mm brass och stainless steal D-ring.

The size ad look of the hardware used for your collar will depend on what hardware you choose as you can choose between smaller 20 mm buckles, medium 25 mm etc. You can find our recommendations below.

What buckle should I choose?

  • Plastic 20 and 25 mm: Suitable for smaller(20mm) to medium(25 mm) breeds that aren’t heavy pullers.
  • Metal(Brass or Zinc) 20 and 25 mm: All breeds, These has some weight to them so they may not work for smaller breeds if you’re looking for a lightweight collar. Breaking load = 200kg.

If you’re concerned your pooch may be able to break a plastic buckle we’d recommend to rather go the safe route and add a metal quick release buckle to their new collar.

SIZING

The Frey collar is not adjustable, meaning the size you’d order would be the inside measurement of the collar when closed. Imagine making an o-ring fo the measurement tape, placing it snuggly on the inside of the collar when layed flat, and buckled.

If your dogs head is smaller than their neck there is a possibility the collar can slip over your dogs head, takes this into account when ordering a collar.

We recommend going for a size that’s at least an inch(little over 2 cm) smaller than the head measurement, but a bit larger than the neck to give some wiggle-room.

Example: Floki the staffie measures 44 cm around his head and 36.5 cm around his neck. His non-adjustable paracord collars are therefor made 39 cm.

HOW TO MEASURE

HEAD GIRTH: Measure where the dotted line is in the photo. Around the widest part of your dog’s head, all the way around.

NECK GIRTH: Measure half way down your dog’s neck. When choosing a size, remember the size should be at least equal to your dog’s neck girth, and smaller than the head girth so that it won’t slip over their head.

Why paracord?
